Find Inspiration in Our Creative Light-filled Space

Our Berlin-based headquarters

handl.e pictures’ beautiful studio is located in the heart of Berlin’s bustling and eclectic Kreuzberg neighborhood. Our approach to everything is analytical, creative, participatory and sustainable — and those key principles are reflected in our studio’s space. Carefully designed and implemented by Berlin-based architect Julius Kranefuss, our studio’s modern and spacious layout has been arranged to serve and host up to 30 people for creative, meaning-making workshops and events. With a wide-open salon, a long corridor, spacious storage options, comfortable bathroom facilities and an open kitchen, this loft-style location ensures everyone can freely flow through the space with their creative energy.
"The design of the studio is an examination, a dialectic process between context and concept, which formula represents a balance between user and usage. The artist Ernest Handl works on many different media with many different methods, up to social sculpture in the form of team building seminars and executive coachings. The requirements for his studio are accordingly complex and user specific. System and function are as important as are creative freedom and productive chaos. (...)

Everything becomes functional, clear and in a redundant sequence arranged to a spatial shape. The functionality of the spatial shape has to be considered only as the spine of human imperfection, though. Through mobile and movable elements, the room can be adjusted accordingly to different situations. Glass walls enable wide viewing axes in the room but create also a reserved spatial separation. Spacious closets and storage space offer sufficient room for the artistic equipment and enable free interior space simultaneously. The usage of wood, steel and glass underlines the aesthetic opinion of the artist.”
Julius Kranefuss

Location

The studio is located at the pulsating Kottbusser Tor on the fourth floor of a 100 year old industrial building tucked in the beautifully landscaped courtyard behind new buildings. Being in the heart of Kreuzberg means the diverse culinary options are right at the doorstep allowing for tasty meal breaks in the studio’s kitchen experience.

Testimonial

“When we arrived to handl.e pictures studio for our Leadership Circle, I was pleasantly surprised by the openness of the space. It's eye- and mind-opening to be around all the beautiful art, inviting creativity to pour through and impact our team discussions. Before this, we were used to holding our meetings in typical business meeting rooms. This change in scenery and context is exactly what we needed to get new ideas flowing to work together even more dynamically and productively.”
